The Val de Loire region

As soon as its name is mentioned, the Loire Valley brings out the best in it: its Loire and its châteaux, its historic towns from Orléans to Angers via Amboise, Chinon and Saumur, its Loire wines, its exceptional natural landscapes... The Loire Valley crosses two regions: the Centre-Val de Loire and the Pays de la Loire. It distributes four departments: Loiret, Loir-et-Cher, Indre-et-Loire and Maine-et-Loire. Shaped by centuries of interference between the Loire and its irrigated lands, the Val de Loire is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as it is so exceptional.

Visit the châteaux of the Loire

Famous for its majestic châteaux, from Saumur and Angers to Sully-sur-Loire and Gien, via Chambord, Chenonceau and Villandry, the Loire Valley stretches across the whole of the Loire watershed. As you travel down the course of the largest and wildest river in France, you will discover breathtaking landscapes. And above all, each one as different as the next! Very green near the springs, the landscape seems to follow the valley of the river that leads to the Atlantic Ocean, near Nantes. For lovers of nature, history, walks and discoveries, go to the heart of the Loire Valley, between Gien and Romorantain, between Blois and Cheverny. Here, you are 2 hours from Paris and 3 hours from Nantes by car! A little wild and full of mystery, Sologne reveals its little-known features to those who are interested. A natural region, studded with ponds and covered in forests, it is also rich in medieval castles. Beautiful discoveries can be made with the family or with friends.
